Approach

Approach area is the area before the actual runway begins, a defined area adjacent to the threshold of the runway.

The first thing the pilot sees on approach are the approach lights. These approach lights are white or red and can start as early as 900 meters before the threshold of the runway depending on the runway.

As an extension of the runway centerline, there is a lighting system consisting of a series of approach lights, flashing lights, or a combination of both, starting from the approach end of a runway and extending outward from the runway.
Flashing lights must be installed when there is a risk that visual contact with the approach lights will be disturbed or limited by ambient lights.

PAPI is a system of lights on the side of a runway threshold that provides visual descent information during final approach. API tells the pilot whether or not the aircraft is at the correct altitude for descent. Usually it is placed on the left side of the runway, about 300 meters beyond the landing threshold.
PAPI (HALOGEN)

PAPI (HALOGEN)

PAPI (HALOGEN) is a Halogen lamp for visual precision approach path to guide the aircraft in the final stage of an approach provides ongoing information about deviations of the aircraft in altitude from the facility’s runway. Installed as four light units in sequence to guide the aircraft. The halogen lamp has an estimated lifespan of 1,000 […]

SFLS-RTIL

The SFLS-RTIL is a lighting system consisting of a number of approach lights extending at least 420 meters from the runway threshold to indicate the direction of approach or to give the flight crew a better idea of the approach speed during darkness. The system consists of : – Up to 30 flashing light unit […]
