Around the world there are a variety of rules and regulations regarding light marking at heliports and Inewatt complies with all the necessary rules and regulations needed for use. There are several different types of heliport lighting and they are used in different areas. This chapter involves: Lights on FATO: Placed along the edges of the FATO (take-off and landing area). Lights on TLOF: Placed along the edges of the TLOF (touchdown and lift-off area). Floodlight: Obstacles on a heliport intended to be used during darkness should be illuminated with floodlights. Illuminated Wind Direction Indicator: A Wind Direction Indicator provides a clear visual indication of wind direction and speed. HAPI light: Enables the pilot to determine the angle of approach. Beacon: Beacon for visual guidance. Emits series of flashes corresponding to the letter ”H” in morse code. Control system: Control system for controlling all types of lighting at a heliport.
